Job Description

Mission Decomposition Specialist, SeniorKey Role:Bring in-depth understanding and expertise to one or more aspects of service or joint missions, processes, and culture. Serve as an operational plans and mission analyst supporting DoD senior executive responsible for cyber acquisition portfolios and capability development. Apply subject matter expertise to examine campaign plans, contingency plans, operations plans, orders, and concepts of operations for cyber assessments. Develop and coordinate staffing packages for senior leadership and departmental requirements to task actions to services and combatant commanders. Lead collaborative teams.Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Department of Defense, including tours at OSD, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command headquarters staffs
  • Experience with framing complex issues for consumption by senior leaders via briefs, memos, and reports
  • Experience with analyzing and evaluating information to identify trends, association, and operational impact
  • Experience in applying cyber operations methodology to quantify cyber dependencies in the operational environment
  • Experience with conducting data collection and analysis, statistical regression analysis, and probabilities and conducting research that examines DoD critical missions against various frameworks including operational plans, joint functions or warfighting functions, and the Universal Joint Task List (UJTL)
  • Ability to conduct discrete event simulation
  • Ability to document and develop program briefs and documentation, present results, communicate with stakeholders, and participate in various program meetings to improve program efficiency
  • Ability to devise modeling and measuring techniques utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, and operational mathematics techniques.
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor?s degree
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience in Process Improvement, including complex processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing automation where possible
  • Experience with supporting DoD cyber or space focused organizations
  • Knowledge of Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS), Universal Joint Task List (UJTL), Mission Essential Tasks (METs) or Mission Essential Task Lists (METLs), and Joint Operations
  • Knowledge of the Joint Planning and Execution Services (JPES), Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP), Adaptive Planning and Execution System (APEX), or Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES)
  • Knowledge of data analysis methods and modeling and simulation tools
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor?s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, Military Operations, or Engineering preferred; Master?s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, or Engineering a plus
