DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: (provide general program info and/or general position overview)Leidos, Inc. has an immediate job opening in Alexandria, Virginia for a Strategic Planner Analyst to contribute to the Analytic Support to Force Planning (ASFP) program that supports the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) Joint Data Support (JDS).? The Analyst will work with Department of Defense (DoD) military planners.? The Analyst will also manage a customer?s secure facility, working in conjunction with the security team.The Analyst will participate in developing data about forces, units and associated equipment; use experience, subject matter expertise to assist with strategic and operational planning; participate in warfighting analysis; and research various military topics of interest to the United States.? The information and analysis will be used to inform DoD senior leadership in their decision making about budgets and programming future capabilities.? Nominee will utilize his or her detailed understanding of the data to perform analysis and respond to senior-leadership inquiries.? The analyst must be capable of briefing the data product directly to senior leadership.? In addition, candidate must be able interact with other teams and directly consult with the government customer.Additionally, the Analyst will be responsible for implementing and providing guidance to customers and management on security issues.? Training will be provided for the security responsibilities.BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Independently navigating complex problems, learning new techniques and accomplishing tasks through self-initiative and self-study, while working in the context of a team of multi-company analysts.
  • Providing analysis for and briefing senior-level leadership for strategic budgetary decisions.
  • Supporting Service and COCOM representatives in the development of analytic products.
  • Supporting studies that analyze future force posture and structure across all Services and domains.
  • Supporting Joint Service, strategic planning in the development of future year Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and the associated forces in accordance with Joint doctrine for strategic planning.
  • Collecting and integrating meta data on assessments and studies; evaluating materials to post products to the JDS website for use by the Defense Analysis Community.
  • Providing subject matter expertise about countries of interest to the United States.
  • Providing research and analyses on military topics.
  • Developing executive summaries and briefings
  • Maintaining and operating a secure facility for Top Secret (TS), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP) programs.
  • Taking responsibility for classified document control, security procedures, personnel clearances, and security education within the context of a security team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (or higher)
  • Bachelors degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Science, Technology or other related discipline and 5 years of related experience (additional experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Strong experience and understanding of:? Force Structure and Strategic and Operational Planning
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytic and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated independent thinker capable of providing leadership
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Military experience
  • Strong experience and understanding of security management
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 5200; DoDI 5200.01.
  • CompTIA security plus certification
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
