At work today in over 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities, the IRC restores safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure.?Coordinate with the humanitarian community and the Government of Jordan, our assistance programs for Syrian refugees in Jordan include both camp-based and urban-based refugee assistance. IRC is currently addressing the needs of war-affected Syrians from several operational bases in the region. The IRC?s activities in the region focus primarily on the supply of vital medications and medical supplies, non-food items, water and sanitation and child protection and form part of an over-arching humanitarian response in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq to assist refugees, IDPs and conflict-affected Syrians survive conflict and displacement.?Job Summary:?Based in Amman Office, supervises the day-to-day finance operations. S/he works with the Deputy Director of Finance in the maintenance and oversight of the accounting, treasury, and financial reporting requirements to ensure that all finance operations are performed in accordance with IRC policy and procedures.?Main Responsibilities:?

  • Supervise and ensure that the day-to-day accounting operations and treasury management functions in country program are performed in accordance with IRC?s policies and procedures.
  • Manages the finance department activities and schedules to meet the financial reporting requirements and deadlines specified by headquarters and donors.
  • Ensures that all in-country practices are in compliance with IRC and donor policies and procedures.
  • Review financial transactions to ensure adequate supporting documentation.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate financial transactions according to its relevant costs allocation centers.
  • Manage the preparation of all financial reports for external purposes with respect to accounting, treasury management, government and donor requirements.
  • Maintain IRC?s system of accounts, ensuring all accounting data are updated, reconciled, and fully supported
  • Oversee training of finance staff and provide technical support for them.
  • Work closely with Budget Holders and the rest of the team members on budget development. Provide input on general, non-program costs.
  • Support the review of the Budget to Actual (BVA) with Budget Holders and other relevant departments.
  • Supervises all country program bank relations and bank account activities including negotiation of fees and currency exchange rates
  • Facilitates external, internal, donor or government audits
  • Ensures monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a timely basis
  • In coordination with the DDF, act as a liaison focal point with IRC HQ on all finance, accounting, grant budget management, and cash management as designated.
  • Ensure that the staff level of efforts and share program costs (SPC) are done properly every month.
  • Coordinating the clearance of the intercompany report every month.
  • Ensuring the pool cost allocation every month.
  • Follow up on PRTS with the concerned staff from SC and other departments on closing grants to assure all expenses has been captured and reported.
  • Make frequent visits to field offices to provide training to finance staff on internal procedures and requirements
  • Any other task assigned by the Supervisor.
