Job Description

Job PurposeREACH is looking for an experienced professional to support upcoming assessments on livelihoods, resilience, and area-based assessments. Under the line management of the resilience and livelihoods team lead, the AO will lead the implementation of livelihoods and resilience research cycles and will provide support to area-based assessment workstreams led by other team members.Background of program:REACH?s CML Unit is primarily concerned with informing response discussions and planning around the modalities through which assistance is delivered, particularly increasing understanding of the ways in which different forms of assistance contribute to longer-term solutions through the strengthening of local market networks and households? livelihoods. The Unit?s work is comprised of recurrent monthly exercises (Market Monitoring), thematic assessments (Livelihoods) and longer-term assessments (Area-Based Assessments).?Job Responsibilities:

  1. Research design: Identifying information gaps, drafting, translating and reviewing assessment indicators in coordination with external partners, clusters and working groups, developing assessment methodologies.
  2. Tool creation: ?Building/editing questionnaires in Kobo, creating paper forms, ensuring proper translation to Arabic;
  3. Training of enumerators and field coordinators: Preparing training materials on assessment indicators and data collection practices, facilitating training sessions with field staff;
  4. Data processing: Implementing data cleaning for quantitative and/or qualitative data and carrying out follow-ups with field staff
  5. Data analysis and output creation: Implementing data analysis plans in close collaboration with the in-country data team or through use of Microsoft Excel, creation of informational products (factsheets, situation overviews) using InDesign;
  6. External engagement: Coordination with partner organizations and relevant humanitarian coordination actors to ensure assessments align with priority information needs, presentation of key findings and coordination for their use in evidence-based planning;
  7. Other tasks falling within his/her functions as requested by supervisors
