Job Description

Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldIT Systems ManagerThe IT Systems Manager will be based at one of four Amentum sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for providing Information Technology (IT) architecture standardization requirements and provide management oversight for the Amentum IT & Communications sections located throughout the four Amentum sites in Iraq. This position reports directly to the PMO Program Manager and provides direct or indirect supervision for up to 10 IT professionals. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.DUTIES:

  • Provide oversight and coordination of the operations for Amentum IT communications and computer systems that enable Amentum personnel to continue O&M operations 24 hours a day.
  • Provide standard operating procedures (SOPs) and IT operational standards.
  • Facilitate, oversee, and validate all server backups, archiving, and recovery operations.
  • Serve as the proponent for IT-related services subcontracts.
  • Provide and/or coordinate any required specialized training of Amentum IT and communications site technicians.
  • Facilitate, oversee, and assist with the installation, testing, maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting of all Amentum hardware, software and communications systems products.
  • Establish, implement and monitor PC standards and procedures including backup and recovery procedures.
  • Facilitate and/or assist with the identification, evaluation, and correction of hardware, software, and operational problems.
  • Oversee the development and maintaining of necessary service logs and records.
  • Coordinate required and/or necessary hardware, software, and systems updates from vendors. Provide technical guidance, and if necessary, one-to-one training to end-users.
  • Develop project plans, implement, oversee, and coordinate the involvement of the appropriate staff, clients, and vendors to ensure effective implementation and fielding of new or enhanced IT and communications systems.
  • Oversee and monitor the timely resolution of user service desk/help desk tickets to include service requests, problem resolution, and requests for new or replacement equipment.
  • Monitor the status of/with manufacturers and service providers of current/?in force?ÿmaintenance agreements, warranties, and site licenses.
  • Oversee, and assist as necessary, with the troubleshooting of all IT systems to maintain stability and reliability.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIRED:
  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
    • Five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience working in the field of IT.
    • Five (5) years experience as an Information Technology Supervisor.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, researching skills, strong MS Office Suite skills, and possess the drive to learn new computer tools.

  • Expert computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
  • Education: A Bachelor?s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver?s license from Home of Record.
  • Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance be able to obtain a favorable US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
  • Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
  • Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for the duration of the deployment.
DESIRED:
  • Certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Cisco Certified Network Administrator.
  • Previous out-of-home country experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.
  • Experience working with PAE/Amentum.
WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS:This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to an extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120- 130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors.
