The Safety Officer communicates with the line manager and QHSE senior officer to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.˜
Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards to ensure compliance.
Follow up implementing the safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors, and the community.
Organize and schedule required safety staff and first aid coverage.
Provide direction, support and resource to all company managers, supervisors, foremen and operators.
Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately.˜
Participate and assist the supervisors, foreman and Senior QHSE officer in investigating incidents to determine root cause and corrective actions where necessary.
Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
Participate in health and safety meetings to identify/discuss any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations work areas/offices.
Ensure implementation of Safety and Health Plan.
Review the first Aids room for the existence of the needed first aid tools, medications.
Maintain accidents/near misses Log.
Conduct the safety orientation for the newly hired and visitors.
Prepare regular inspection reports about the status of HSE at all company areas.
Ensure injured workers are offered modified duties/if needed and documentation has been completed.˜
