A Lab Assistant for our fabulous Creative Fragrance Perfumery Lab in Dubai, and providing essential support for both our Fine Fragrance and Fragrance Consumer Products development teams supporting our customers in the Middle East & North Africa markets -˙Your future position?Fragrance is at the heart of Givaudan. We create scents that shape people?s lives.Our Perfumery Lab in Dubai provides critical lab and analytical support for our creative fragrance development teams for consumer products and fine fragrance categories, helping Givaudan provide unique fragrance solutions for our customers in the Middle East & North Africa markets.˙We now have a˙?Lab Assistant?˙role to support our increasing project pipeline and expanding Creative Fragrance Perfumery Lab in our Regional Creative Centre in Dubai. You will be based in our Dubai Media City office and report to the Creative Fragrance Perfumery Lab Team Leader.˙You will support the daily lab operations and the Perfumers for compounding trial oils and secure the availability of fragrance samples for evaluation and testing according to business needs and Environment, Health, and Safety policies.˙This is a full-time role with us on an open temporary contract for 1 year to start with, and working 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) to back up the team members going on annual leave and support lab operations. The contract could be extended later depending on our changing business requirements.   • Perform the entire compounding process - blending fragrance ingredients according to the formulas provided.
  • Perform the sampling process - compounding, mixing, packaging, and cleaning or prioritise any other urgent tasks which may arise from time to time, with an efficient and cost-effective approach.˙
  • Independently undertake the preparation of dilutions and standard references and repacking of certain raw materials.
Raw material olfactive checks˙-˙
  • Identify differences in colour and odour for specific raw materials.
Prioritise Lab safety and housekeeping˙-˙
  • Promote and maintain a safe, clean, organised laboratory environment by observing Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines and Givaudan?s good laboratory practices.
  • Understand the hazards and risks in the responsible work area.
  • Ensure maintenance of equipment, a safe work culture, and good housekeeping practices for neat care of the lab and secure handling of chemicals and raw materials.
Laboratory Compounding Management System (LCMS)˙-
  • Manage the fragrance formulas and information received from Perfumers via the internal LCMS system, interpret them, and proceed with compounding.
Support raw material inventory management˙-
  • Manage the information available from the SAP system to manage raw material inventories - ensuring that we have enough stock for each raw material for all the allocated workstations˙
  • Remove raw materials near their expiry date or when a particular batch has a quality compromise.˙
