Job Description

  • The core responsibility is to lead ALJE?s growth and diversification objectives using effective M&A strategy, identify strategic business opportunities and new revenue streams that enable ALJE to lead markets and gain competitive advantages. A primary purpose of this role is to support and lead a variety of strategic efforts inclusive of playing a pivotal role in building short and long-term strategic plans. With that context, the director will lead the ALJE strategic direction, strategy formulation and develop the required action plan by working hand in hand with ALJ Group VP strategy. This requires collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in accordance with KSA vision 2030. Success in this role demands a strong strategic and analytical orientation coupled with exceptional communication skills as well as a highly developed collaborative nature.
  • Responsible for identifying the new business opportunities, profit improvement opportunities and support the current businesses to diversify.
  • Lead assessment and execution of any Merge and Acquisition / Joint Venture / partnership projects.
  • This role demands extensive hands-on experience in managing business development projects from start to end as turn-key.
  • Developing and executing Abdul Latif Jameel Enterprises (ALJE) Business Unit strategies, work on their business plan and generate business growth.
  • Deep knowledge of Vision 2030 and National Transformation Programs and build the ALJE BUs strategies based on it and seek the new opportunities with government and private sectors. Align the strategy with the Vision 2030, National Transformation Program (NTP) and ALJ Group strategy.
  • Understanding the market and monitoring the market for information and creative trends (networking with major players, attending industry functions and events, and monitoring industry publications and research) to keep abreast with the local and global competition.
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending investments for organic growth.
  • Work closely with BUs and CEO on designing and implementing BD initiatives focusing developing growth and revenue streams.
  • Work closely with JIMCO (ALJ Corporate VC) on identifying and executing strategic startup investment that support ALJE strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with the CEO on various corporate strategic finance and strategy formulation.
  • Provide direction, guidance to the businesses to ensure alignment with the Vision 2030 and the Group?s strategies.
  • Provide input to the company?s strategic planning and develop, deliver and monitor their business development plans.
  • Serve as a lead facilitator both internal and external BD projects.
  • In conjunction with business group and corporate M&A partners, support execution of large M&A projects.
  • Provide and consolidate intelligence on competitors strategies and activities. Effectively manage external relationships/partnerships. Develop diverse sources of information in guiding the direction of the organization.
  • Lead integration teams and coordinate executions of acquisition plans. Develop and document best practices in areas including: forming joint ventures, negotiation tactics, assessing cultural dimensions, due diligence data collection, integration planning and other M&A matters.
  • In partnership organization leaders, identify and research M&A opportunities supporting the growth strategy of industry consolidation, enhancement of channel to market and a business model expansion.
  • Manage strategy assessment projects including asset strategies, product strategies or multi-year planning.
  • Locate and propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners, discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Develop a business development culture across all companies that will foster change and innovation.
  • Prepare the annual business plan, as well as prepare the annual work plan, analytical and performance reports as required for the CEO and Board purposes.
  • Develop and deliver the business plans through carrying out research, formulate, market analysis and deliver accurate business reports.
