In Shell, we have been providing pioneering technologies and expertise in the energy industry and creating value for the community that we have been long part of.Purpose* Providing External Relations support at the country level, supporting the license to operate and growth for the business. * Working closely with the leadership team and Shell joint ventures in Oman to expand presence, maintain reputation and foster collaboration and engagement. * Planning and executing Oman Shell?s social and digital media presence and reach, in collaboration with other corporate functions and marketing teams in order to contribute to business growth and reputation.AccountabilitiesExternal Communications* Preparing and disseminating press statements to local publications on a timely manner in collaboration with other corporate functions and in coordination with MENA Media Relations team. * Maintaining an effective relationship with the media in Oman through regular and meaningful engagements, for media coverage and to maximize reach * Act as focal point for maintaining and updating Oman Shell?s external website, in line with relevant guidelines and processes. * Build and execute Oman Shell?s social and digital media presence and reach, in collaboration with other businesses, and in accordance with the applicable Shell guidelines and processes. * Support external communications and media relations activities in line with Oman Shell?s Business and CR Plans. * Ensuring content consistency with Shell?s global and local messages and narratives * Coordinate media interviews and interview requests with the leaders and spokespeople, and draft responses and key messages in collaboration with relevant businesses. * Maintaining and updating communication narratives and key messages for Oman Shell in various key topics, including and not limited to: business milestones and projects, Shell?s interest in Oman, joint ventures, social investment, ICV, etc. * Working closely with other businesses and joint ventures to generate communication content and leverage Shell reputation in country. * Working closely with the business to Understand the opportunities, challenges, trends, issues and risks in the external landscape through stakeholder sensing and engagement and integrate them into the Company?s Issue Management tool. * Review and provide feedback on all external communications from language and brand perspective to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance with disclosure and communication guidelines and processes.Brand* Coordinating with Shell?s Visual Identity team and Production Center of Excellence in the region and local production agencies to ensure SOM branding is compliant and consistent with the Shell Branding guidelines. * Review the branding of other classes of businesses and ensure that they are following the required processes and guidelines.Events and Conferences* Coordinating and supporting corporate events, including conferences, business forums, exhibitions, and social investment events.Crisis Communication* Support the team, in leading communications during emergencies and support Country Chair Office during Crisis times. This includes: * Making sure corporate stakeholders contact list, including media stakeholders, is up to date. * Coordinating for capability building exercises and drills on crisis communications on annual basis with refreshers in coordination with global and local crisis teams. * Assisting the team in producing the template and banners related to crisis activities though our local production agency, and in line with the processes and guidelines in Shell.Internal Communication* Plan and develop very creative contents for internal communications in line with the Group?s guidelines and models to ensure that engagements is strategic and achieves the desired business outcome. * Review and provide advice on all mass internal communications from all businesses to ensure compliance with the applicable guidelines as well as Disclosure Standard regarding the disclosure of Shell Information. * Collaborating with external agency focal points to deliver effective content. * Ensuring that internal channels and platforms are up to date with latest business activities. * Measurement and reporting on a quarterly/annual basis, depending on channel. * Coordinating and managing internal corporate events.Other* Monitoring and reporting on the communication budgets. * Making sure that vendors are paid on a timely manner.Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:* Minimum qualification of a bachelor?s degree * Experience in planning and implementation of reputational, social/digital/mainstream media and partnership programmes * Strong organizational skills with high performance, integrity, and delivery mindset. * Good interpersonal skills, able to influence and interface effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, at all levels * Networking skills and ability to maintain and leverage networks in support of delivery * Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships stakeholders * Strong analytical skills, communication and report writing. * Strong Arabic and English; verbal and writing. * Ability to interact with a broad spectrum of people and excellent communication skills.** Please note: We occasionally amend or withdraw Shell jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to the advertised closing date.
