Improving Lives.˜˜˜Currently, we are looking for a passionate and energetic˜Customs Documentation Specialist˜in the˜Contract Logistics Team.˜ The position will ensure that all customs clearance processes for inbound and outbound˜ operations run efficiently and make sure that correct details are provided for Customs Bills creation and thereby enabling the achievement of service standards and customer satisfactionKey Responsibilities

  • Analyze WTO, regional and local customs, tariff and trade laws [along with country experts in government relations, etc] to determine admissibility requirements, entry reporting (including duty and other payment) requirements, as well as trade programs for purposes of establishing clear procedural rules for process and internal controls creation and maintenance.
  • Perform the daily operational customs clearance for both import and export.
  • Prepare Customs documentation eg. Certificate of Origin, SASO etc.
  • Identify potential customs and/or tax planning opportunities and implement plans to take advantage of such opportunities.
  • Assess whether Customers customs and business process (es) meet all compliance obligations ? in particular, the classification, valuation, origin and any trade preference programs utilized. After the assessment, create and implement action plans to ensure continued compliance.
  • Develop and implement projects and strategic customs plans for managing customer customs business; this includes people, process, and systems and related resource requirements.
  • The individual will provide advice (written and oral) to customer on matters impacting the customs environment
˜Job Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
  • College graduate with major in finance, International or business (strongly preferred) or equivalent experience ? Required
  • At least 3 years? experience in preparing customs documents and customs declaration ? Strongly Preferred
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Fluency in English language
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with operating personnel, upper management and with external service providers, i.e. attorneys and consultants
  • Expertise in customs laws and regulations of the country
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and manage complex customs programs, projects and issues in an operational, consultative and advocacy capacity
  • Ability to effectively integrate customs (import/export and trade program) requirements into the core business processes
  • Strong advocacy experience working with business and government personnel on highly visible and complex customs matters
  • Ability to work independent of direct supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills
  • Should be numerate and be able to analyze data
