Job Description

Our client, a large semi-government rehabilitation facility is currently looking for a Fetal Medicine Sonographer to based in Abu Dhabi. For this role, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Performs obstetrical ultrasound including first trimester, anomaly, and growth examination and assessment line with Fetal Medicine Department, Fetal Medicine Foundation (UK), and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness. Forwards recorded images produced for Radiologist review and reporting.
  • Cleans equipment and rooms and restocks all equipment and supplies for subsequent use.
  • Participates in orientating new staff members and training student radiographers.
  • Ensure familiarization of equipment before commencement of assigned duty. In particular, document all new equipment orientation in the radiographers logbook.
  • Practice good equipment handling skills and adhering to the protocol in the event there is any malfunction of the equipment.
  • Ensure that all equipment faults are documented for corrective actions by the equipment vendors and ensure necessary follow up and handover.
  • Ensure timely handover of equipment and their accessories to the section supervisor or relevant colleague. Any equipment faults awaiting corrective action should be highlighted.
  • Perform required ultrasound imaging and services as assigned in a professional and competent manner according to written instructions and protocol.
RequirementsTo be considered, you need to meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university in a Radiography, Radiology Technology or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging program
  • With at least 2 years clinical experience in the UAE
  • Registration/certification or accreditation as radiographer / Sonographer
  • Preferably with DOH/HAAD License
  • Experience Post Qualification in General Radiology field
  • Demonstrate competency in basic sonography and at least one of the following: Advanced ultrasound modalities AND Quality Assurance processes and PACS
