Job Description

Archireef is a company that offers nature-based solutions to restore degraded marine ecosystems. Our solutions sit at a junction of eco-engineering, material science and data analysis. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a result-driven and experienced General Accountant to join our team.As the General Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Job Responsibilities

  • Take a lead in bookkeeping by maintaining and updating financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process in the system.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions with accuracy.
  • Reconcile vendor and customer statements, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist in preparing quotations, purchase orders, invoices and receipts.
  • Prepare and post journal entries in the system.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize working capital.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Generate and distribute timely and accurate financial reports to management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures.
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Provide financial insights to aid in strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing and filing VAT returns and other tax-related documents.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.
  • Proven experience as a General Accountant or similar role.
  • Knowledge of UAE accounting standards and regulations.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
  • Experience working in start-up companies.
  • Familiarity with Xero accounting software is a plus.
Reporting to: CEO & CCOSalary range: AED 7,000 - AED 10,000Strictly no agencies.
