We are seeking to recruit on behalf of our client an ENVIRONMENTAL COORDINATOR : EPC CONTRACTS who will based in Qatar on a long-term residential contract working in the client?s EPC & CONSTRUCTION Department.Job Summary:The Environmental Coordinator reports directly to the HSSE Manager and directs environmental management (EM) activities. The Environmental Coordinator has responsibility for preparation, monitoring, documentation, and implementation of the Environmental Management Program at Corporate or Project Site(s).Key Responsibilities:?Environmental Program Development: Prepares project specific environmental management plans (EMP) and implements the corporate environmental policy and monitors compliance, whilst staying current with all applicable Company and National environmental regulations, standards, procedures, and guidelines as well as all company environmental programs.?This includes the supervision and coordination of local surveys the interpretation of measurement results and reviewing (and commenting) environmental aspects of contract documents as well as monitoring the environmental performance of contractor operations.?Environmental Compliance: Responds to concerns and requests for information from Qatar Industrial Cities/Qatar Energy, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) and obtains technical advice from Qatar Energy as needed. Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management and pollution control.?Environmental Reporting: Provides regular input to management on KPIs and other indicators used to monitor environmental and health performance. Recognizes the process and techniques used to identify, analyze and manage environmental risks as a result of business operations.?Organizes and participates in major surveys such as Environmental Performance Assessments (EPAs), Occupational Health Hazard Assessments, Sustainability, HAZCOM Assessments, Chemical Handling Assessments, Waste Management Compliance Audits, and Environmental Health surveys. Actively seeks to resolve any findings from these surveys. Provides follow-up information and updates reports to MOECC as required.?Environmental Performance: Coordinates all environmental related activities within the organization as appropriate, including the development of environmental objectives and indicators, tracking of performance and costs, and record-keeping and reporting functions.Qualifications & Minimum Requirements:?Bachelors degree (BSc) in Environment or in Chemistry, Biology or Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or MSc in Environment Studies.?Relevant certifications NEBOSH-IDip Environmental Management or equivalent may be preferred.?Proven experience as an Environmental coordinator or similar role in the hydrocarbon industry.?Minimum 10yrs field experience including large capital projects and brownfield work.?Experience in handling projects/tasks related to waste management, water conservation, energy efficiency & conservation and sustainability.?EMS ISO:14001 certificated or Experience in leading/conduction EMS audits & other environment related audit. In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards, including OSHA regulations may be preferred.?Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively train, motivate, and guide construction site personnel in safety practices.?Problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and risk assessments.?Proficiency in using safety management software and tools. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.?Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.?Proficiency in preparing & presenting environmental reports and presentations.
