About the teamThe demand growth team at Careem is responsible for powering the growth of Careems super app customer base, transactions and GMV by harvesting the rich data Careem has on its customers and driving activation, graduation, cross sell and retention journeys for the platform. This is a central team that takes a platform view of the customer and at the same time works closely with the verticals to help deliver their growth objectives. The team also collaborates with the growth platform product team to continuously evolve our product capabilities that drive the growth machine at scale and for all our cities in the region. What youll doAs an Associate Director - Martech, your role will span three broad areas:

  • North star vision: Help shape the North star vision for how we run growth in a super app / multi-vertical context, both from a strategic / commercial and from a tech perspective (including tools we build / buy).
  • Operations: Setup and run highly streamlined operations that enable the journey towards the North star and power targeted / personalized engagement journeys for customers.
  • ROI measurement: Establish clear metrics to measure performance for all customer journeys with reliable and detailed reporting that surfaces insights and help drive continuous improvements.
This is a complex, entrepreneurial role where you will start by understanding the strategic context and vision for growth at Careem and translate that into a flexible and reliable Martech stack and operations. You will need to hit the ground running, build the nucleus of the opportunity yourself and over time build a strong team that helps scale the function across our cities. You will need to be comfortable with ambiguity / complexity and operating with frugal resources while persevering through challenges. In order to be successful, you will need to collaborate closely with multiple cross functional teams such as product, design, research, growth / analytics, marketing and others. Building strong relationships with cross functional team members will be crucial to success in this role. You will need to obsess over the needs of customers and partners to craft a winning value proposition that balances the interests of customers and Careem. Previous experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in a combination of analytics, strategy and operations
  • Past experience in leveraging data science / ML to solve complex problems
  • Past experience with leading growth / demand operations in a large scale tech business
  • Past experience in tech startups would be a strong advantage
  • UAE-specific experience and strong knowledge of the market. Knowledge of the KSA market is a bonus
  • Mustve managed a team with a proven track record
  • Customer-centric mindset and experience working closely with product teams
