Job Description

Reuters is seeking an Arabic and Farsi-speaking journalist to join its Middle East Breaking News Hub, preferably in Dubai or Cairo. The hub is in charge of producing real time news alerts and stories in English˙and Arabic from a variety of sources, including TV broadcast, podcasts, social media and news agency feeds, working closely with bureaus and correspondents across the Middle East and North Africa region ˙to break with the highest degree of accuracy news that is important for Reuters? global audience of decision makers in the worlds of business, media and politics.This role will focus on the Arab countries and Iran. An excellent command of the Arabic, Farsi and English languages is a requirement.About the RoleAs a Breaking News Correspondent,˙you will:

  • Publish news alerts and urgent reports clearly, accurately and quickly˙
  • Work under pressure in a very fast-paced environment
  • Decode alerts/urgent reports from financial and energy statements, speeches, tweets a TV broadcast
To be one of our˙Breaking News Correspondents, you should have:
  • A strong understanding of the politics, social change and conflicts at play within the Middle East
  • A solid knowledge of the energy and financial industries
  • An ability to work under pressure, and work early or late shifts
  • An ability to work with a large team across the Middle East and North Africa region
