Supply Chain Lead (UAE)About the teamCareem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery, pharmacy and retail products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), were in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space. What youll doAs a Supply Chain Lead, youll be a fundamental part of the team which drives the operations for our dark stores within an area. This is a unique role with the opportunity to create genuine impact for the lives of everyday people in our region. Were looking for someone with a keen eye for understanding the crux of operational challenges and co-relate them with data, and who is able to quickly get visibility from data. Should be a fast learner and adaptable to the team as this role is cross functional. Our ideal candidate is someone with a strong set of fundamental business skills - problem solving, business acumen, strong communication, and project management.

  1. Supply Chain: Lead and on daily monitoring end to end and check on the processes. Should be able to relate data and the on-ground process. Develop and implement frameworks such as 5why, lean, and sync up with store ops & suppliers to make ops more efficient in receiving and outbound front. Apply the MECE approach and lead as an example.
  2. Operations: Support our day-to-day store operations in partnership with store supervisors and shoppers. Balance your time between behind-the-desk problem solving and strategic thinking, and on-ground operations and problem solving. Be willing to lend an extra hand to the store teams as necessary.
  3. Develop & Optimize Processes: Monitor service experience and health, and in-store operations and challenges, to identify the biggest operational gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, and work on solutions in collaboration with various teams.
  4. Develop Relationships: Foster strong relationships with markets, functional teams, external and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and productive working relationships.
What youll needSuccessful candidates will have a passionate commitment to improving the lives of people, an insane focus on excellence and customer centricity, and a strong alignment with our core values and purpose.
  • 2-3 years of experience in professional environments specially working with technology companies, retail or Q-commerce industry
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Comfortable with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fast learner - lots of things to comprehend in a very short time span
