  • Wholesale Credit Review Unit is one of the teams which falls under Group Wholesale and Market Risk and reports to the Group Chief Risk Officer.
  • Global Wholesale Credit Risk Review is a dedicated second line of defence function in providing an independent and rigorous assessment of Wholesale Credit Risk on a continuous basis across the HSBC Group.
  • The team in India undertakes regional credit reviews along with providing support to the Credit Risk Review teams to conduct portfolio reviews across Asia Pacific, Middle East, UK, Europe and North America.
OpportunityThe role holder will have to support credit reviews of various counterparties within the allocated region (including Global Banking/ Large Corporates, Commercial Banking and Financial Institutions Group), identify policy breaches or potential/emerging risks and make suitable recommendations for remedial action to protect HSBC?s lending position and minimize potential credit losses.What you?ll do:
  • Analysis of various counterparties within Banking/CMB/FIG book to ensure that risks are thoroughly assessed by lending executives, make proper credit judgments with emphasis on integrity of Credit Risk Rating (CRR), maintenance of satisfactory credit standards and controls, exercise of correct delegated lending authorities and adherence to all other credit standards prescribed in policy.
  • Manage workflows independently during various Full Scope Review or Limited Scope Reviews.
  • Ensure timely and good quality delivery of the various workflows that are allotted to the offshore team.
  • Ensure adherence to operating procedures in line with Global Credit Risk Review as well as Region specific policies.
  • Identify streamlining opportunities in the Credit Review process.
  • Development of MI for monitoring & reporting of the quality / quantity of outputs.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Credit Risk Review team in Hong Kong as well as Relationship Managers and Lending Executives across the region by delivering value added service and establish rapport and credibility.
  • Ensure quality of work, for both self and the team, adherence to workflow timelines and timely submission of management information.
  • Drive a high performance culture within the team by displaying high engagement levels and ensure business continuity and stability
