We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our Centre of Excellence team as Vice President ? Operational Resilience Manager supporting the Asia Pacific (ASP) BCIM function.The Opportunity: Role purpose

  • This is a senior role, responsible for providing strategic insight and conducting activities across all BCIM areas within the Operational Resilience programme.
  • A key outcome for this role is to influence Business Service Owners and Senior BCIM leadership how we deliver change and Business Strategies to incorporate Resilience by Design
  • The role holder is required to develop a deep understanding of HSBC?s drivers, risks, regulators, and complexity in order to facilitate Operational Resilience outcomes for the global businesses and functions.˙ They will work collaboratively with BCIM leadership across the bank to ensure that all global Operational Resilience framework requirements are embedded and integrated against a business-driven agenda.
  • The role holder is responsible to support respective BCIM Market Leads with the roll-out and integration of the Operational Resilience programme as well as influencing other programmes and/or BAU activity on which Operational Resilience is impacted by or dependent upon. This in turn leads to the measurable increase in maturity of operational resilience within HSBC group.
What you?ll do: Principal responsibilities
  • Work with BCIM Market Leads and Business Service Owners (BSOs) of Important Business Services (IBSs) by providing subject matter expert (SME) advice, guidance, and training on Operational Resilience - Business Continuity activities, through check and challenge on critical decisions and ongoing support throughout the annual lifecycle.
  • Provide SME guidance in the creation of the IBS Continuity Plans through workshops and dedicated support
  • Support the alignment of Business Service Owners (BSOs) Incident Management approach with existing Major Incident Groups and /or Incident Management Teams.
  • Support deep dive component level response plans of IT, third party management, Corporate Services, Business Units etc., to advance their documentation to prove viable against identified vulnerabilities.
  • Lead the preparation of, facilitate and support post-test reporting of Operational Resilience Tests of IBSs across ASP. This involves collaborating with SMEs across HSBC to develop realistic scenarios built from a library of severe but plausible scenarios. Scenarios are built through an analyzed understanding of the IBS and interdependencies across people/processes/technology.
  • Represent ASP BCIM in Market / entity test planning working groups and attend other Operational Resilience meetings as required.
  • Support our testing strategy by developing the sophistication and maturity of testing programme year on year
  • Consistently evaluate deliverables to identify areas for improvement and take action where necessary.
  • Escalate actual and potential issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable regulations on BCIM and Operational Resilience.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable, local regulation and HSBC guidelines, making sure to employ the higher standard of controls.
  • As Operational Resilience is a fast-evolving programme, the activities required will develop.
