Our team of over 400 engineers and developers are empowered to develop cutting-edge technology every day.Careem was established in July 2012, became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Uber Technologies, Inc. in January 2020, and today operates in over 100 cities across 12 countries.About the teamThe role holder would be responsible for supporting the global procurement team in building a procurement centre of excellence across Careem, transforming a legacy ad hoc strategy and delivering hard savings across multi-functional spend portfolio, while enabling the business to stay agile while we rapidly scale.What youll do

• Strategy, analysis, and reporting: support in executing the global procurement strategy including spend analysis, industry benchmarks, and transformation objectives to deliver optimized purchasing and hard cost savings across functions and locations
• Sourcing and vendor management: vendor sourcing, evaluation, competitive bidding and negotiation. Experience in vendor management systems to drive continuous improvements
• Establishing strong relationships with internal business stakeholders; building a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements, and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories
• Transformation and systems: integrate best-of-breed procurement system to automate procurement, bidding, and reducing operating costs in procurement
• Cost saving and controls: support and drive adoption of tools and processes to increase turnaround times, eliminate non-compliant purchasing and reduce costs significantly while managing rapid growth
• Providing guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies; maintaining procurement ethics in accordance with global policies.
• Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results

What youll need

• 4+ years of experience in procurement from Telco, FMCG, tech industry preferred
• Emerging markets & fast paced environment experience preferred
• Experience in strategic sourcing, including spend assessment, market analysis, understanding trends and defining forecast
• Procurement experience in professional services, marketing, and other general indirect services categories
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with internal/external stakeholders
• Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
