Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist with expertise in the chemical field to join our team. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of chemicals and related materials, ensuring timely delivery, and negotiating contracts with suppliers. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in chemical purchasing, excellent negotiation skills, and a thorough understanding of the chemical industry.Responsibilities:

  1. Research and identify potential suppliers of chemicals and related materials.
  2. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their chemical purchasing needs and requirements.
  4. Create and manage purchase orders for chemicals and related materials.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  6. Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers regarding quality, quantity, or delivery.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and availability of chemicals and related materials.
  8. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines for chemical procurement and storage.
  9. Manage relationships with suppliers and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  10. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction strategies.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. Proven work experience as a Purchasing Specialist in the chemical industry.
  2. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  3. Excellent knowledge of chemical procurement processes and industry regulations.
  4. Ability to analyze market trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
  5. Proficiency in using purchasing software and tools.
  6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  8. Knowledge of safety and regulatory guidelines for chemical procurement and storage.
  9. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
