Job Description

Jeeny is a leading transportation platform that aims to make daily commuting and transportation more accessible, affordable, and flexible for everyone. We are a joint venture between MEIG (Middle East Internet Group), Rocket Internet, and IMENA. Originally launched as Easy Taxi in 2014, we rebranded as Jeeny in 2016 to expand our services beyond ride-hailing. Currently, we are operational in Saudi Arabia and Jordan, with offices in Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah, Dammam, Khobar, Amman, Lahore, and Karachi.We are looking for a talented and passionate Backend Engineer with expertise in PHP and experience working with MVC based frameworks such as CodeIgniter or Laravel. This role requires a hardworking, dedicated, and self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow in a friendly and challenging work environment.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gathering requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional
  • solutions.
  • Responsible for development of new programs, analyzing current programs and processes, identifying
  • areas for modification and making recommendations which yield a more cost-effective product.
  • Contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple
  • environments and operating platforms.
  • Working closely with all team members to understand full-stack functionality and architecture.
  • Contributing ideas (technological and product) to enhance the overall app experience.
  • Staying abreast with technological updates and implementing technology improvements after R&D.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering processes such as code reviews, source control, unit testing, use case
  • analysis, defect management, continuous integration and deployment
  • Work closely with the Project Managers in providing technical solutions and innovative ideas to cater to
  • project needs.
  • Update job knowledge by researching new technologies and software products.
  • Supporting teams by developing documentation and assistance tools
  • Provide recommendations to management concerning issues of programmer productivity and software
  • development management.
