Mercy Corps is committed to delivering high quality, high impact programming that reaches communities or individuals in need, wherever they are.LEARNING OBJECTIVES:To support the various crisis analytics (CA) teams across the Middle East as they continue to develop research products that inform Mercy Corps programming and the broader humanitarian and development landscape.DELIVERABLES:Assist in development of and/or drafting concept notes focused on themes/topics of relevance for Mercy Corps? programmatic strategy, to be jointly implemented by two or more Crisis Analytics (CA) teamsAssist in the development of Regional ?flash? pieces, as needed;Support on the production of a regional report based on the topic of interests gathered across the various teams, likely at the end of the internship cycle;Support in the production of CA slide decks for each country and for the region to support the presentation and fundraising for CA teams in the Middle East - and adapt them as needed;Support in the development and expansion of the regional price monitoring dashboard to document the impact of the Ukraine conflict on the global food crisis;Support donor mapping to strategically position CA teams within each respective country and in the region, based on topics of interests collected;Identifies best practices for data collection, information management, and/or analysis (tools, processes, etc) amongst CA teams and provides suggestions for knowledge-sharing opportunities ;Based on country-specific CA need and technical skill set of selected candidate, support CA teams in the creation and layout of data visualizations, including maps, infographics, and graphs/charts;Support in the organization of the regular regional and global CA teams meetings.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:Graduate degree in progress or recently completed (within 1 year) with a focus on political and/or economic dynamics in the Middle EastProven interest in the humanitarian and development sectorCurrent or recent on-the-ground experience in the Middle EastStrong analytical skills, ideally with experience in qualitative and quantitative methodsExcellent written English skillsStrong technical skills in Power BI, Stata, GIS, Adobe or other similar softwareIdeally already located in the region (Lebanon or Jordan, potentially other countries)LIVING CONDITIONS:Depends on locationMercy Corps interns represent the agency both during and outside of work hours and are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and Mercy Corps policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venuesMercy Corps Diversity StatementAchieving our mission begins with how we build our team and work together.
