As an international institution, AKU operates on the core principles of quality, relevance, impact and access; and AKU is a model of academic excellence and an agent of social change.ÿJob Role / Responsibilities:Reporting to Assistant Manager, Finance you will lead the financial activities of the segments of the Finance department and provide regular and periodic reports and interact with internal and external customers in a supervisory role.ÿSpecifically, you will be responsible to;

• responsible to check and approve payment vouchers as per the approved authority matrix within specified timelines. Ensure the accuracy of calculations, check all the supporting documents and appropriate GL accounts are recorded. All payments and JVs should be as per the Policies and Procedures of the University

• coordinate with cross function sections and other departments of the institution i.e. Central Processing Unit (CPU), Treasury, Payroll, Registrar Office, Patient Behbood Society etc. and provide required data for smooth transaction processing so that the payment are done on timely basis and / or customers are responded on timely basis
• review and monitor schedules of Assets and Liabilities and ensure that the correcting entries if any, recording of expenses, settlement of advances and liabilities are recorded on time as well as follow up can be done
• ensure proper recording of revenues from all sources of the Academics Department
• interaction with internal and external customers that includes suppliers, service providers, faculties, students, granting agencies etc. and ensure release of timely reporting
• review reconciliations of revenues, statistical data, and routine reports to ensure the availability of the data for the readers and management as per the define forms and formats
• review and monitoring of monthly schedules of Assets and Liabilities of balances and required follow up
• assist in annual budgeting exercise through extracting the data from various sources; compile them in the set format. Uploading the budget into the financial modules
• review of different reports, memos such as Budget Variance Reports, Grant Variance Reports, Debit/Credit notes, Shops financial statements, Financial Performance, Newsletters, AKDN and other reporting etc.
• monthly and Annual Financial closing related activities as per the schedule circulated
• any other responsibility assigned by the supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

• ACMA / ACCA in commerce or equivalent qualification in a related area
• professional certification in a relevant field will be an added advantage
• 2-3 years? experience in relevant field
• be able to operate MS Office
• have knowledge of Accounting Principles and IFRS
• possess good analytical skills
• able to demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills
• be a fast learner, team worker and stay motivated
• effective time management.
