Its teaching hospital, the Aga Khan University Hospital has been accredited by the prestigious Joint Commission International for˙achieving the highest international healthcare standards.˙Job Role / Responsibilities:The Programmer Analyst position requires a person possessing relevant academics qualifications and/or experience in the field of computer software development. You are expected to analyze, program, maintain and manage software applications and their development through all phases of system development life cycle.˙Specifically, you will be responsible for;

  • handling university wide i.e. AKU Global ERP operations and expansion, ERP support and implementation within the University and all its affiliates in any country
  • creating˙and maintaining software applications and gaining knowledge of the existing applications, both the technical and business aspects
  • participating˙in all phases of application development, i.e. study, analysis, design, development, and implementation
  • developing excellent understanding and application of Data Modelling and Data Analysis Techniques
  • learning˙Software Development Tools in use e.g. PeopleTools and People Code
  • efficiently producing˙and maintaining requirements and application systems documentation
  • participating˙in quality assurance and testing of products
  • preparing˙self-development plan in coordination with the immediate supervisor
  • undertaking˙activities for continuous professional development in line with the plan and keeping abreast of latest developments in the profession
  • operating˙within practices and procedures for smooth functioning of all operational services as per quality standards
  • liaising˙with others/Sections/Departments for delivery of the results
  • working on special assignments given by the supervisor/manager.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:You should have/be:
  • a formal and recognized degree in Computer Science or related disciplines such as Bachelors or Master?s degree in Computer Science, MBA in MIS etc.
  • extensive experience in computer programming˙
  • at least 0 ? 2 years of related prior professional experience
  • the ability to understand and effectively use data modelling and analysis techniques.
  • the capacity to grasp, analyze and document business requirements with some level of independence
  • the capability to come up with well thought out solutions and prepare modification specifications independently
  • a history˙of˙demonstrating˙new approaches and thinking˙before acting
  • the ability to break down concrete issues into parts and synthesizes succinctly along with collecting and analyzing˙information from a variety of appropriate sources
  • the skill to identify client needs and expectations, and responding˙to requests efficiently and effectively while taking˙action beyond explicit requests within established service standards.
  • the ability˙to meet client needs in a respectful, helpful and responsive manner and seeking feedback to develop a clear understanding of client needs and outcomes
  • the capacity to listen actively, objectively and present appropriate information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing
  • the ability to make straight forward decisions based on pre-defined options using clear criteria/procedures
  • the skill to recognize and act on present issues as well as offer ideas to address current situations or issues.
  • the ability˙to work independently and complete assignments without constant supervision
  • the capacity˙to complete tasks in accordance with plans and sets priorities for tasks in order of importance
