As an international institution, AKU operates on the core principles of quality, relevance, impact and access; and AKU is a model of academic excellence and an agent of social change.˙Job Role / Responsibilities:The Programmer Analyst position requires a person possessing relevant academics qualifications and/or experience in the field of computer software development. The incumbent is expected to analyze, assist in development of Business Processes, Program Configuration, Maintains & Manage software applications and application development using development tools/programming languages through phases of software development life cycle. Excellent interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication skills are essential.Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • handling operations and expansions, supporting and implementing of AKU Global ERP ˙within the University and all its affiliates in any country as well as application development
  • creating and maintaining software applications and gaining knowledge of the existing applications, both the technical and business aspects
  • participating in all phases of application development, i.e. studying, analysing, designing, developing, and implementing
  • developing excellent understanding and application of data modelling and data analysis techniques
  • learning and developing using software development ERP Tools in use e.g. PeopleTools and People Code, Integration Broker, Rest API, etc
  • learning and developing using software development tools including but not limited to VB, VB.Net, ASP.Net, C#, MVC, HTML, React, Angular JS, SQL,
  • Oracle, and database development tools including but not limited to SQL Server Stored Procedures for application Maintenance development
  • producing and maintaining requirements and application systems documentation efficiently while understanding the business process
  • participating in quality assurance and testing of products
  • preparing self-development plan in coordination with the immediate supervisor
  • undertaking activities for continuous professional development in line with the plan and keeping abreast of latest developments in the profession
  • operating within practices and procedures for smooth functioning of all operational services as per quality standards
  • listening actively and objectively and presenting appropriate information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing
  • liaising with others/sections/departments for delivery of the results
  • working on special assignments given by the supervisor/manager.
Eligibility Criteria/Requirements:You should have:
  • a formal and recognized degree in Computer Science or related disciplines such as Bachelors or Master?s degree in Computer Science, MBA in MIS etc
  • 0 ? 2 years of related prior relevant professional experience
  • the ability to understand and effectively use data modelling and analysis techniques
  • the capacity to come up with well thought out solutions and prepare modification specifications independently
  • the ability to grasp, analyze and document business requirements with some level of independence
  • the ability to demonstrate new approaches and thinks before acting
  • the ability to break down concrete issues into parts and synthesizes succinctly along with collecting and analysing information from a variety of appropriate sources
  • the ability to identify client need and expectations and responds to requests efficiently and effectively while takes action beyond explicit request within˙established service standards. Able to meet client needs in a respectful, helpful and responsive manner and seek feedback to develop a clear
  • understanding of client needs and outcomes
  • the ability to listen actively and objectively and present appropriate information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing
  • the ability to make straight forward decisions based on pre-defined options using clear criteria/procedures
