Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patient.?Provides expert comprehensive direct and indirect care to the specific populations needs, including cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family, and condition needs.?Provides expert comprehensive direct and indirect care to the specific populations needs, including cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family, and condition needs.?Provides advanced assessment skills, integrating appropriate data sources to assess the signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics.?Evaluates and works to improve the process of patient care delivery within the unit.?Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and the initiation of peripheral venous access.?Serves as a clinical and operational resource for all nursing activities in the department. Provides assistance to co-workers, new staff, temporary staff and students.?Delegates and assigns tasks to health care workers within the scope of their job responsibilities.?Evaluates, facilitates, and promotes patient flow, coordinates discharge planning and team rounding.?Participates in the completion of required competencies.?Champions department improvement activities.?Assumes responsibility for mentoring, coaching and staff development. Contributes to performance evaluations.?Coaches and supports nursing staff in the application of advanced clinical skills and critical thinking to support patient.
