Job Description

Rixos Qetaifan Island North Opening mid-2022, Rixos Doha Qetaifan will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park and a waterpark. The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Slated to make its debut right before the World Cup, Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country?s biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North?s waterpark attraction. The Icon Tower, the world?s highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres in height.˙Head ButcherButcher is a supervisory position. He is primarily responsible for preparing meat, fish and poultry products; also maintains stock levels of items. He is supervised by the Executive Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine on duty.˙What?s in it for you:

˙What you will be doing:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of his or her station, ensuring best practice and adhering to the hotel Standards, policies and procedures.
  • Helps Chef to develop and implement menus, trends, training and quality initiatives to ensure that the hotel?s business goals are achieved, all in line with company brand standards.
  • Orders all meat and fish for preparation of dishes; Clean and portion all meats and fish for daily menus for all kitchens. Monitors communication with all supervisors for the above.
  • Performs research and procurement on new meat and fish products for continual cost control, quality control, new menu items, and new food development direction specifications.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures as directed.˙
  • Continually updates knowledge of hotel recipes, and reports any discrepancies in recipe procedures, ingredients, yields or measurements to supervisor so the recipes can be corrected.˙
  • Performs regular inventory of product, to maintain proper par levels.˙
  • Adheres to hotel standards for guest service.
  • Stores and handles food properly, following Health Department requirements.˙
  • Refers guest problems or complains to Manager.˙
  • Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.˙
  • Cleans kitchen as directed.˙
  • Performs monthly inventory of all product on hand.˙
  • Trains staff members as directed.˙˙
  • Performs other job-related duties as directed.
  • Supervise the activities of the Chef de Parties and Commis.
˙Your experience and skills include:
  • A 2-year degree/certificate in culinary arts is preferred, but not required.
  • Must have a minimum of two years? experience in food, meat fish preparation, preferably at a resort or hotel.
  • Must have an aptitude for guest service and take pride in hotel standards of excellence in food preparation and cleanliness.˙
  • Must have a cheerful, positive attitude when working with a variety of people and be able to work well in stressful situations.˙
  • Must be able to work any day, any schedule.˙
  • Must be neat and clean in appearance.˙
  • Experience in the hotel industry. High level of competency in own job.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Qualities / Competencies: Credibility, integrity, enthusiasm, assertiveness, good communicator, motivation, researcher.
