Job Description

Job Summary:˙As a dental assistant, you will work closely with dentists and dental hygienists to provide chair-side assistance, perform administrative tasks, and ensure efficient operation of the dental office. Your role is crucial in delivering quality dental care and creating a positive experience for patients.Responsibilities:

  1. Chair-Side Assistance:˙Assist dentists and hygienists during dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments and materials as needed. Provide suction, retract tissues, and assist with procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety.
  2. Patient Care:˙Welcome patients, review their medical history, and prepare them for dental treatment. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse. Explain procedures, answer questions, and provide reassurance to alleviate patient anxiety.
  3. Radiography:˙Take dental x-rays (radiographs) as directed by the dentist. Ensure proper positioning of the x-ray equipment and use radiation protection measures to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  4. Sterilization and Infection Control:˙Follow strict infection control protocols to sterilize instruments, disinfect treatment areas, and maintain a clean and safe environment. Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  5. Administrative Duties:˙Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and handle billing and insurance claims. Greet patients, answer phones, and coordinate patient flow to optimize efficiency in the dental office.
  6. Educational Support:˙Provide oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care information to patients. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive measures to maintain oral health.
