Penzberg is the only site in the Group where the Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics divisions conduct research, development and production at the same location, covering the entire spectrum from research to the patient.What to expectThe General Manager Roche Diagnostics GmbH is a highly visible and impactful position both internally and externally. The incumbent is the official and legally responsible representative of Roche Diagnostics GmbH (Legal Entity) and its final decision maker. The General Manager is a vital player in the local/regional community representing the sites and is a Roche representative to external bodies, such as authorities, employer and employees organizations, industry associations, regional and local institutions, neighbors and other public stakeholders. Internally you provide integrated site services of balanced quality and cost for all business functions in Mannheim or Penzberg in coordination between local, divisional and group functions. In this role, you will enable impactful employee experiences through the embodiment and embedding of our Roche Culture and build robust relationships with stakeholders in order to achieve enterprise goals and solutions. This strategic and high-impact position reports to the Head of Diagnostics Strategy & Transformation, and can be based in either Mannheim or Penzberg.Your key accountabilities and deliverables* You will provide leadership, inspiration and development to the local sites services organizations (e.g. engineering, facility management, SHE, security, administrative and/or technical campus services in Mannheim and Penzberg, managing external service providers). * You represent Roche to external bodies, such as authorities, employer?s and employee?s organizations, neighbors and other public stakeholders. * You will ensure an appropriate management and organizational structure, representing the employer and exercising the formal position of the Managing Director. * You are a member of the Global Diagnostics Sites Enablement Team, composed of the General Managers /Site Heads of all large and multi-functional Diagnostics sites, identifying opportunities to maximize impact for the business across and beyond the individual sites. * In addition you are one of the managing directors of the Roche Deutschland Holding GmbH which bundles the German business activities of Roche and provides overarching services and is responsible for the strategic business planning. * You will chair the management committees (e.g. RDG Management Board, Center Manager Forum and Services Management Team), composed of executives representing key business and corporate functions, establishing and leading any legally or locally required decision bodies (e.g. crisis management, business continuity, etc.). * You ensure a fit for purpose infrastructure and site services, in order for our high performing business functions to remain competitive by continuous optimization of costs and service delivery models. * You ensure compliance with laws and regulatory requirements as well as with Roche directives. Ensuring Roche?s right to operate is protected through business continuity, security and environmental health and safety practices; maintaining respective governance and union labor requirements. * You will strengthen compliance/governance in agile organizational structures. * You develop the long-term sites development plans in collaboration with all key stakeholders on sites as well as in alignment with the Global Diagnostics Sites Enablement Team. * You establish the conditions for RDG to be an ?Employer of choice? by creating an exceptional and attractive working environment, with the goal of employee attraction, retention and satisfaction; and you foster sites identities and company image. * You will be a role model for our Roche Operating Principles; fostering an inclusive culture and be the culture champion and catalyst across our Mannheim & Penzberg locations and beyond. * You orchestrate a well-functioning internal communication, ensuring and promoting the exchange of information and transparency, as well as the dialog between different stakeholders in the company.Our Mindset & CultureOur new Roche Operating Principles are the foundation of our culture and mindset: * Put patients first * Follow the science * Act as one team * Embrace differences * Accelerate learning * Simplify radically * Make impact now * Think long term The General Manager RDG demonstrates the Roche Operating Principles, catalyzes the change and architects the conditions required to bring them to life.Who you are* You hold a higher education degree (MA, MS, MBA, PhD) and 15 plus years of experience in senior leadership roles in general/site management and/or a business function in an international, multi-cultural and matrix environment. * You are experienced in working in a by law and directives regulated environment. * You bring along experience in managing budgets, meeting financial targets, improving business processes and driving cost effectiveness and efficiencies. * You have strong business and financial acumen with an enterprise mindset and strong knowledge of the healthcare market and biotech/diagnostics industry. * You are a strategic and agile thinker with a proven track record of developing and delivering business strategies. * Your excellent executive presence and experience in influencing and leading executive leaders in a matrix environment and integrating different perspectives and needs into shared responsibilities for local/site specific topics complete your profile. * You are a strong leader with experience in building, leading and coaching teams (demonstrated visionary, architect, catalyst and coach aspects of leadership); ability to communicate complex topics simply and articulately to various audiences incl. external audiences. * You have strong experience in leading and coaching large change processes as well as complex projects and global initiatives. * You have a deep understanding and ability to navigate and influence within Roche beyond the sites; established strong relationships with partnering functions (i.e. Legal & Compliance, People & Culture, Corporate Relations, IT, Finance, Government Affairs). * You have an understanding of the regional context and needs of all German sites. * You have the proficiency to communicate and negotiate in German and English.Roche is an equal opportunity employer.We are strongly committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
