We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Manager to join our client in the dairy/ food business. As a Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective sustainability strategy that aligns with business goals and ensures that the farm/ production and corporate office are environmentally friendly and compliant with government rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy for the operations that includes a framework for measuring, tracking, and reporting on environmental impact and social responsibility.
Identify areas of opportunity for reducing the environmental impact of farm operations and implement changes to improve sustainability.
Monitor the dairy farm?s sustainability performance by analyzing and auditing operational activities (e.g., waste elimination, energy and water usage, greenhouse gas emissions).
Implement sustainable agricultural practices that promote soil health, biodiversity, and water conservation. ? Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and standards and work with regulatory agencies to address any issues that arise.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, regulatory agencies, and local communities, to promote sustainability initiatives and enhance our reputation as a responsible and sustainable dairy farm.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement sustainability projects that deliver a return on investment (ROI) and promote our brand equity.
Develop and implement a communications strategy that effectively communicates our sustainability initiatives to both internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct regular training and awareness sessions for employees and stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and practices.
Manage the dairy farm?s sustainability budget, including identifying areas for cost savings and efficiencies. ?
Stay up-to-date with sustainability trends and developments in the dairy industry, and develop strategies for adapting to changes and opportunities.
