Job Description

An ideal Commis will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals according to recipes and established standards. Commis must have passion for cooking and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced culinary environment.Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, desserts according to recipes and established standards.
  • Ensure all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and quality.
  • Assist in the preparation of sauces, stocks, and other base ingredients.
  • Clean, chop, slice, and dice vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as needed.
  • Prepare doughs, batters, and other mixtures for baking or frying.
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality.
  • Follow proper plating techniques to ensure that dishes are visually appealing and appetizing.
  • Properly season and garnish dishes to enhance flavor and presentation.
  • Assist in the preparation, making sure all ingredients measured, cut, peeled, sliced, grated, etc. if needed.
  • Work on multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Ensure that all dishes are cooked to order and delivered to customers in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in all areas of the kitchen.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and superiors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify superiors when supplies and ingredients need to be replenished.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment by supporting other kitchen staff and offering assistance as needed.
  • Continually work to improve culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on company policies, procedures, initiatives, and current trends and best practices.
  • Adhere to standard codes of personal cleanliness, grooming, personal hygiene and appear cheerful at all times to reflect the brand identity.
  • Perform other duties as required from the direct manager
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or above. additional education or Formal culinary training or equivalent experience is preferred .
  • Previous experience in Similar position.
  • Proficient in English, both verbally & written.
  • Strong attention to details and organizational skills.
