Job Description

The Opportunity

  • A role is required to support the Light Rail Tram project which is currently divided into phases: Phase 1: AlUla to Hegra (UNESCO World Heritage Site) aimed at lightweight panoramic journey to Hegra (includes multiple stations); Phase 2: AlUla to International Airport, aimed at tourists arriving and departing, Phase 2 capacity and weight still being reviewed.
  • The Tramway Design Delivery Manager (Light Rail Tram System) provides a managed service for design delivery supervisory overview of multi-disciplinary subjects, and relationships with supply chain design for the Royal Commission of AlUla (RCU), AlUla, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Reporting directly to the RCU project lead and supported from the CBRE team based in AlUla and Dubai, with translations, technical administration support.
  • The Tramway Design Delivery Manager brings a range of different specializations including Signaling, E&P, LV, B&C and Track Design that complement each other to add value and improve the overall diverse project expectations.
  • Working environment will be both the client site and CBRE offices based in AlUla on a 2-week rotation schedule.
  • Overseeing and reviewing of quality rail engineering deliverables solutions by the contracted Consultant Engineers, Contractors on behalf of the Proponent (RCU) for the Journey Through Time Experiential Tramway Project business plans.
  • Monitoring the development and management of appropriate engineering design solution submission transmittals.
  • Checking, reviewing, commenting, and if instructed, approving submission transmittals deliverables to meet project requirements.
  • Monitoring the progress of design delivery, interfaces, integration, and change control processes in line with business requirements to deliver project requirements (including the supply chain).
  • Monitoring the engineering design solution submission transmittals from contracted Consultant Engineers Contractors on behalf of the Proponent, to ensure effective resource planning, and collaboration with other design team resource entities to meet project objectives.
Our ideal person is someone who:
  • Relevant sector qualification (ideally degree level with ongoing professional development undertaken).
  • A minimum of 10 - 15 years experience in this field is mandatory.
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written. Arabic would be highly advantageous.
