Senior Health PhysicistBasic FunctionPerform activities of the implementation, coordination, and day-to-day of the radiation protection program in all JHAH facilities.Directly working as a Radiation Protection Officer (RPO)/Health physicist.ScopeThe work is in Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare HSE Division, Environmental Compliance Unit (ECU) in Dhahran, Al Hasa, Ras Tanura, and Abqaiq. Senior Health Physicist, will work under the supervision of the HP team to facilitate in conducting various activities in the areas of radiation protection and health physics. Work hours are assigned to meet operational needs of the assigned area. Direction is through the Senior Consultant HP staff and Unit supervisor.Principal Contacts

• Daily with radiation users supervisors and staff, and facility personnel
• Frequently with unit heads of proponent organizations and contractor for work coordination and to evaluate compliance with ongoing programs, projects and contracts.

Principal Duties

1. Conducts routine and non-routine radiation protection surveys in the various JHAH facilities
2. Develop, document, and implement JHAH Radiation Protection Program commensurate with the scope and extent of licensed activities and sufficient to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
3. Participates in the training and education program for radiation protection in JHAH
4. Monitors the personal Dosimetry records.
5. Participates in and/or handles emergency situation investigation of incidents, accidental overexposures or any abnormal situations involving sources of radiation.
6. Monitors the procedures for calibrating radiological survey and counting instruments.
7. Prepares and/or reviews documents necessary for radiation protection license applications, policies and procedures and technical reports.
8. Provides Health Physics consultation including planning and shielding design, selecting and specification of radiation equipment, introducing new radiation techniques, waste management, radioactive storage and transport
9. Maintains all the required radiation protection records.
10. Responds in a timely manner to all complaints and requests for service that relate to radiation protection in JHAH Facilities.
11. Ability to read, interpret, evaluate and implement regulatory requirements as they may apply to assigned radiological tasks.
12. Performs necessary technical work and provides consultation for any special projects assigned to him by the supervisor of Environmental Compliance Unit

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Medical physics or equivalent.
• Master Degree in Medical physics or equivalent is preferred.

ExperienceMinimum 10 years of direct experience in (healthcare based) health physics and radiation protectionCertifications/Other requirements as applicable

• Licensed RPO by King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Read, write and speak English.
• Desirable to speak and write Arabic.
• Must hold a valid Saudi Driving License.
