Job Description

JOB PURPOSENutrition-sensitive programming is emphasized as an integral part of all efforts to reduce malnutrition in WFP Nutrition Policy. It highlights the need to integrate healthy diets availability and access across systems (Food, Social Protection, Health, Education) and across WFP?s operations to address the multiple burdens of malnutrition facing vulnerable groups in the region.Though Tunisia has made considerable progress in addressing malnutrition, some challenges remain such as the double burden of malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies combined with overweight and obesity. Access to nutritious food is not hindered by food unavailability but rather by inadequate purchasing power of the country?s most vulnerable people and by nutrition habits.Since 2013, WFP has successfully positioned itself in Tunisia and Morocco in a technical advisory role through government capacity strengthening activities aiming to enhance nationally owned school feeding and other social protection programmes.
