We offer a range of family friendly and inclusive employment policies and provide access to programmes and services aimed at nurturing our peoples health and overall wellbeing.Disputes (DUB3)Associate, InsuranceThe TeamNorton Rose Fulbright has a significant global contentious and non-contentious insurance practice.Our global team of insurance lawyers advise many of the worlds most well-known industry participants on their most significant corporate, regulatory and transactional matters, as well as on complex claims, class actions, disputes and investigations.The contentious insurance team in Dubai (which sits within an award-winning NRF disputes practice) is ranked and complimented in legal directories and consists of ambitious, collaborative and specialist lawyers as various levels, who are dedicated to servicing clients across the Middle East region.We represent clients in high-value disputes (many of them cross-border in nature) and have substantial experience in managing and resolving disputes, whether through the conduct of litigation or arbitration proceedings, or through alternative techniques such as mediation and negotiation.The Dubai team has won crisis management law firm of the year for contentious cyber mandates two years in a row and works for the top players in the Middle East insurance sector, on ground-breaking and high value mandates.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced lawyer who is able to work to a high standard and accept a high degree of responsibility in leading matters and maintaining client contact.Skills And Experience RequiredThe successful candidates should have the following skills and experience listed below:

  • Excellent academic background
  • 4 to 6 years PQE
  • Insurance experience from a top-tier law firm
  • Qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales (although candidates with experience in certain other jurisdictions will also be considered)
  • Proactive and self-starting individual
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • A flexible approach to work and be open to working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Client facing experience is preferable
  • Experience of taking a lead associate role on matters, together with responsibility for supervision of more junior team members
  • Communicate effectively on both a practical and intellectual level and be an active listener
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for dealing with complex and intricate transactions involving multiple jurisdictions and that require a more creative approach
  • Have an interest in, and an aptitude for, developing the firms business, and a willingness to assist in the development of client relationships through meetings, presentations, producing know-how and other business development initiatives.
