Job Description

Position Summary:Ferns N Petals is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Legal & Compliance Officer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the companys compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, as well as providing strategic legal advice and support to the organization. The Legal & Compliance Officer will play a crucial role in managing risk and protecting the companys interests.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company and provide guidance to the management team
  • Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, vendors, and other third parties to ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Provide legal advice and support to various departments within the organization
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed
  • Investigate and resolve any compliance issues or violations that may arise
  • Develop and conduct training programs to educate employees on compliance and legal matters
  • Maintain accurate records of all compliance activities and reports to the management team
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential legal and compliance risks
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and make recommendations for process improvements
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in Law or related field; Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a legal and compliance role, preferably in a corporate setting
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g. GDPR, FCPA, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research databases
  • Certification in compliance or related fields is a plus
