Description: We are seeking a senior, chartered accountant to oversee a retail business, with its head office in Abu Dhabi. Must have a demonstrated history of working in a similar position with retail brands in the UAE.Key Responsibilities: 1. Oversee the companys general account operations by strategically controlling and verifying financial transactions.2. Summarise financial status by collecting information and preparing profit and loss, balance sheet, and other statements.3. Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of Inventories as well as operations.4. Maintain control over inter companys payments & receipts5. Prepare month end reconciliations by preparing journal entries, AP month end accrual, reversing entries, and re-classing entries.6. Coordinate projects involving internal and external audits to ensure that they have appropriate access to information and people within the organization.7. Handle VAT reporting (payables and receivables). Ensure collections and payments are done in line with UAE regulations.8. Prepare annual audited financial statements.9. Oversee Inventory Control Manager in developing and implementing inventory control systemsand practices.9. Oversee Inventory Control Manager in Inspecting warehouses and stores to ensure that inventory levels are in line with company standards.10. Reports on margins (supply cost) by product and product category.11. Month-end closing activities and ensuring financial accounting related to revenue and costing is completed in a timely and accurate manner.12. Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solution to business and financial problems.
