Job Description

PURPOSE & SCOPE Senior Engineer (Materials & Corrosion) shall assist in execution of materials & corrosion engineering discipline activities and related specifications as required for a Project and as assigned/directed by the Principal / Lead Engineer and perform the following main tasks: Reviews Project?s scope of work, material selection and corrosion basis and related specifications focusing on Vendor packages/Subcontractor?s related part of project activities in coordination with Principal / Lead Engineer during Enquiry phase and raises all relevant issues for clarification/resolution. Also, provides inputs to FEED endorsement/qualifications, risk assessments to the Lead/Principal Engineer for their review and onward submission to Engineering Manager. Executes material selection and corrosion control design activities, providing technical support to engineering disciplines focusing on Vendor?s Packages. Performs the duties of the Lead Engineers in their absence under the supervision of the Principal Engineer/HOD. 2.0 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES As a Senior Engineer (Corrosion & Materials), main duties will consist of, but are not limited to;? Report to the Principal/Lead Engineer (Materials Engineering Technology) and work under his overall supervision and directions.? To take the responsibility materials & corrosion engineering activities as assigned by Principal /Lead Engineer. Also, assists or performs duties of Lead Engineers in his group as and when assigned.? To review and understand scope of work of vendor?s packages/sub-contractor?s works and specifications thereof and check materials & corrosion related requirements based on MSDs and other relevant documents during Enquiry phase and raise all relevant issues for clarifications/resolution, as needed.? To provide inputs to FEED endorsement, qualifications to FEED, man-hours estimate and identify the risks related to Project.? Reviews metallurgical/corrosion related contents to Vendor packagesSkills RequiredFor Senior Engineer (Materials & Corrosion) position, the following minimum qualifications and experiences are required:? Bachelor? degree in Metallurgical/ Mechanical Engineering. Masters and PHD degree in relevant discipline will be preferred.? Minimum 8 years demonstrated experience in materials & corrosion engineering, preferably in oil & gas industries. Work experience with Engineering consultancy organization and/or EPC Contractor will be an added advantage.? Supervisory potential? Understanding of all Engineering disciplines.? Knowledge of Engineering software.? Good command of written and spoken English.? Good technical knowledge and skills.? Good Communication skills.? Good Technical knowledge.? Good planning & decision making skills.
