Job Description

Position SummaryPerform/ supervise all maintenance activities and overhaul for all plant Rotating equipment during normal operation and Turnaround / Shutdowns according to company RC policies and procedures to improve the reliability of plant assets and equipment?s and meet maintenance targets and KPI?s.Position ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Management:Develop and review with discipline supervisor the discipline assets maintenance strategy, programs, and directions in compliance with vendor recommendations, codes and standards, and best practice to ensure effective maintenance activities and optimum asset life cycle cost.Develop, review, and implement with discipline supervisor action plans to achieve maintenance targets and KPI?s.Implement maintenance activities (preventive, corrective, predictive, inspection, and performance monitoring) ? safely and efficiently to meet company and maintenance department targets and KPI?s and emphasize effective resources consumption/utilization to secure optimum maintenance cost.Prepare and periodically review / update maintenance procedures ? in conjunction with supervisor - and strictly adherence to these procedures to ensure safe and effective maintenance activities.Correctly manage and report all maintenance activities and assets data / records through company CMMS (MAXIMO) to keep continuous and valid records for all assets.Allocate and plan resources to maintain 24-hour maintenance coverage to support safe and continuous operation.Prepare - in conjunction with Planning and Discipline Supervisor- and implement plant shutdown and turnarounds maintenance activity plans to meet company targets and KPI?s.Troubleshoot, and locate equipment faults and operating irregularities by making the necessary diagnostic tests, measurements and analyses, and plan toward remedy.Develop equipment improvement plans through detailed analysis of historical reliability data and through the identification of equipment vulnerabilities.Develop/ review maintenance work instruction (MWI) for all discipline equipment according to Equipment Original Manufacture (EOM) recommendation and maintenance best practices.Work with the discipline Supervisor in the development of annual budgets and play a key role in the management and control of costs.Contractor Management:Supervise the site manpower staff Technicians and Foremen in all discipline equipment Day to Day Activities to accomplish maintenance activities safely, timely, and efficiently.Participation in the discipline training program delivered to the contractor staff (Engineers and Technicians), and GIT?s to enhance their capabilities and awareness of site, process, and equipment.Identify and Locate required resources and Manpower, to maintain discipline equipment safely and effectively.Improve the communication with contractors to increase the contractor safety and productivity outcome.Set out/ review and follow appropriate Responsible Care requirements and management arrangements in tender specification documents.Ensure contractor / service providers are aware of high-risk activities and mitigations required to minimize incident in site along with site entry rules.Periodically evaluate the contract provider?s performance (technical, HSE, behaviour, communication, etc..) to act upon improvement to reach accepted performance.Evaluate the contractor staff periodically and identify training needs to each worker.Provide contractors with proper tools, equipment, documents, and work instructions to guarantee all tasks performed as per company approved quality and safety standards in a timely and efficiently manner.Ensure contractors utilizing proper and sufficient safety gears and working under company approved procedures to secure safe working environment and incident-free work place.Personally, Ensure and enforce contractors? attendance, positive participation, and engagement in all relevant company safety communication sessions and safety programs (TBT?s, training, campaigns, etc) to increase safety awareness, enhance safety performance, and meet company targets and KPI?s.Spare Parts Management:Develop and periodically review with discipline supervisor inventory list of all discipline required assets and equipment spares (operational and capital spares) with optimum Min/Max levels satisfying plant safe operating targets and meeting optimum cost ? and follow up order accordingly. This will be done via interchangeability study, quoting OEM?s and alternative competitive suppliers, proposing alternative parts and securing obsolete spares.Continuously support cost effective consumption and cost vs benefit decision.Ensure spares are correctly described, ordered, received, stored, and preserved in accordance to manufacturing recommendation to be fit for use upon need.Prepare a list of recommended consumables / lubricants / grease/ etc. Required for discipline equipment safe operations and maintenance and follow up delivery upon order.Managing of spare parts purchasing routine including technical evaluation and cost estimation and coordination of Procurement in order to provide technical expertise if required.Risk Management:Recognize and assess the discipline equipment risks and apply the appropriate mitigation to avoid any potential hazard (HID).Provide input into specific risk assessments for both equipment and system related to evaluate the risk of dealing with critical situations during maintenance activities.Identify and assessment of risks, Root cause and bad actor analysis for discipline equipment.Utilize incident management system (IMS) with Taproot technique to effectively investigate discipline equipment incidents through being investigator or investigator leader.Develop risk assessment associated with chemical handling.Ensure discipline Equipment risk- -to- safe operation are recognized, assessed, and appropriately mitigatedCarry out risk-based work selection & review Hazard Identification checklist and controlAlways use risk assessment technique as part of decision-making support process.Participate in HAZOP studies relating to major discipline equipment.Departmental Inter relationship:Support Engineering department counterpart Engineers assigned to assets in trouble shooting reliability impacting events across business-critical discipline equipment.Participate in scheduling of preventive and corrective maintenance daily with counterpart planner.Works cooperatively and effectively with other disciplines to resolve problems, and provide creative ideas aiming to enhance maintenance effectiveness and achieving optimum integration.Calmly listen, assess and clarify problems and respond with options to operation, co-workers and/or vendors who may be confused or upset.Build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. As Methanex core value and Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.Working with Project/Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.Participate in execution of engineering modifications with engineering dept. for discipline equipment as an output from the management of change (MOC) procedures.Vendors/ OEM:Initiate and maintain active working relationship with different contractors and vendors.Directly Supervise the Outsourcing discipline Maintenance Service Providers and ensure approved Engineering Standards Application. These Services will include but not limited to: Equipment Overhauls, Equipment repairs, Specialized Services, ?etc.Communicate with vendors of the Equipment to investigate the problems and incidents and cooperate with vendor and procurement department to get the quotation of the recommended spare parts.Plant Reliability:Liaising with discipline supervisor, communicate - and report as appropriate - with other dept?s (Engineering, operations, Local reliability team, other sites, etc ?) to ensure plant vulnerability and reliability issues are addressed, investigated, and effective action plans in place.Use Management of Change System (MOC) in all discipline activities improvements and modifications.Utilize company document management system (Meridian) in managing company-controlled documents to ensure valid and credible information.Lead / Participate in plant RCA / RCFA.Position QualificationsExperience/knowledge:At least 4 years? experience in Rotating Equipment Field in Oil, Gas or Petrochemical Plants.Thorough knowledge of industry standards and codes for rotating equipment. Familiarity with turbine controls systems.Proven experience with large pumps, compressors. Steam turbines and turbo expander is an added advantage. A Knowledge of vibration analysis for rotating equipment & predictive maintenance is desiredpractical knowledge of industry standards and codes and certifications in vibration analysis, root cause failure analysis, lubrication and others are preferred Education/TrainingKnowledge and training in Rotating Equipment Engineering Standards (API)Technical knowledge in the design, application and maintenance of plant rotating equipment.Working knowledge of rotating maintenance operations as well as reliability applicable concepts.Enough understanding of rotating equipment maintenance strategies and standards.System one basics and principles.Technical writing.Education/Training:B.Sc. Engineering (Mechanical).Vibration analyst level 2.Oil analyst level 1.Skills/other requirements:Fluent in English conversations and technical English.Self-motivated and has high analytical capabilities.Team player with multi-cultural exposure, strong ownership & safety commitment.Has the minimum capabilities to work on one of CMMS program (ex, Oracle, Maximo, etc.)Utilize company document management system in managing company-controlled documents to ensure valid and credible information.
