Job Summary:The Quantity Surveyor/Estimator in the Metal Industry is responsible for accurately estimating costs, quantities of materials, and resources required for metal-related construction projects. They collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure accurate budgeting, cost control, and timely completion of projects.1-Estimation and Costing:Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and material requirements for metal construction projects.Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately estimate quantities of metal materials needed.2-Budgeting and Financial Management:Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.Monitor expenses, track variations, and propose cost-saving measures without compromising quality standards.3-Tendering and Procurement:Assist in tendering processes, providing accurate cost data for bidding purposes.Liaise with suppliers, negotiate prices, and procure materials in line with project requirements and budgetary constraints.4-Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate project planning and cost control.Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing timely cost reports, and addressing queries related to cost estimates and expenditures.5-Risk Management:Identify potential risks related to cost overruns or deviations from budgetary constraints and propose mitigation strategies.6-Documentation and Reporting:Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, contracts, and project-related documents.Generate regular reports on project costs, variations, and financial performance.
