We are seeking an?Embedded Software Engineer who has exceptional interest in software and embedded systems engineering. This candidate will report to the Renewable Energy Engineer.Prior experience in the energy business with a specialty in solar, and battery systems is a plus. The objective is to work as part of the engineering design and R&D team to achieve commercialization targets as set out by the company.General Description:In this role you will design and implement embedded software solely for a product line of electro mobility solutions (inverters, solar chargers, and AC/DC power systems). You will work closely with other embedded electrical engineers and mechanical engineers and hardware engineers in the built infrastructure division to develop a software solution, HMI, SCADA system and dashboard which will record, log, send and deliver vital performance metrics to a dashboard.You will develop all software on the inverter, solar charger and power system to monitor, record, calculate and analyze key electrical and physical parameters (and theres a lot of it). You will also work on the systems and tools used in the software development environment to improve the day-to-day work of development and ensure that the software we deliver meets the highest quality standards. This position requires interdisciplinary collaboration on an electro-mechanical embedded system, and an individual who can work as part of a team to solve highly varied and complex engineering problems.This role will require collaboration with cross-functional teams to conceive, design, and bring to market innovative customer experiences and device capabilities. Design and architect testable and scalable solutions to complex problems using appropriate frameworks on top of a custom hardware stack. • Develop embedded software for real-time systems
• Communicate software design via written requirements, architecture, and detailed design
• Basic Software Development: OS, Memory, Comms., Hardware Abstraction, User Level App
• Build scalable infrastructure to support varied hardware targets
• Process improvements for automated code generation, testing, CI/CD, code quality systems
• Architect, design, and develop software for embedded processors
• Write robust, reliable, efficient, and testable low-level software to interface with sensors, displays, and other peripherals.
• Software Integration and Qualification Test definition
• Optimize and tune system power and performance across the stack.
• Work closely with other teams on solving cross-functional problems to create compelling experiences.
