Job Description

Driver- MafraqJob PurposeUnder the supervision of the Senior Logistic officer/assistant, the Driver is responsible for the transportation ofACTED staff and any other assets given to him appropriately, following ACTED safety and security procedures.ÿObjectives:Transport ACTED staff and assets safely to all destinations given by the line managerDuties and Responsibilities:1: General Responsibilities?ÿÿÿTo transport ACTED staff within all cities, camps, and districts in which ACTED is operating.?ÿÿÿRegularly update the logbook for each trip (km starts, km stops, hour departure time, hour arrival to destination, etc.); Keep your logbook clean and without many written error/mistakes.?ÿÿÿTo fill out mileage log and write down the display meter mileage.?ÿÿÿTo provide true and fair report of the covered distances and used fuel to the line manager.?ÿÿÿTo submit accurate fuel consumption reports and logbooks to line manager at the end of the month for checking.?ÿÿÿTo request from passengers to fill in and sign the logbook for each trip (km start, km stop, hour departure time and hour arrival to destination).?ÿÿÿTo strictly refrain from using the vehicle for private needs or for the transportation of persons not involved in ACTED activities.?ÿÿÿTo keep the vehicle, clean by washing it weekly and to clean the inside of the vehicle daily.?ÿÿÿTo work overtime and on holidays when approved and requested by the Logistic officer.?ÿÿÿEnsure to record each trip on the logbook with the full details (Date, time of the trip, track of the journey, meter reading, passenger?s name & signature, fuel refill & driver?s name/signature)?ÿÿÿTo perform any related duties are performed as and when requested by line manager.2: Passenger Safety?ÿÿÿTo bear security/safety responsibility of the passengers on board.?ÿÿÿTo make sure the seat belts are fastened both driver and passenger(s) while seated.?ÿÿÿKeep the speed limit of 20 km/h inside Zaatari camp, 40 km/h in cities and 100 km/h while out of cities on highways: respects traffic speed limits/rules while driving all the time. Failing to do so can lead to immediate dismissal.?ÿÿÿTo decrease speed, when necessary, like when: passing in front of a school, when animals are visible crossing the road, playgrounds, villages etc.?ÿÿÿCheck regularly the ?first aid kits? and fire extinguishers inside the vehicle and report any problem to Logistics department.?ÿÿÿTo obtain a security clearance prior to departure to the field or another base ? when applicable.?ÿÿÿIn case of any accidents, due to ignorance of traffic rules and or high speed, driver will be responsible in front of ACTED and the party who have received possible damages.?ÿÿÿTo be responsible for following security restrictions while traveling (e.g., curfew, avoiding restricted areas).?ÿÿÿTo be responsible for in-time-communication with security or logistics department to inform his and passengers location.?ÿÿÿTo have all the necessary contact information in his vehicles (phone contact) and needs to remember the emergency contact numbers.?ÿÿÿLoad and unload the vehicle, properly and place items inside vehicle with care and safety measures.?ÿÿÿNote: Failing to follow any of safety rules has immediate reaction as consequence including dismissal.3: Technical Responsibilities?ÿÿÿReport immediately any technical failure of vehicle to transport focal point in the logistics department.?ÿÿÿKeep the vehicle clean and always in good condition.?ÿÿÿUndertake a check and control of the vehicle on daily basis before starting the engine.?ÿÿÿReport any defect of vehicle to the Logistic Officer without delays.?ÿÿÿTo maintain his vehicle in a good condition.?ÿÿÿTo carry weekly check of the vehicle and wash his vehicle chassis weekly.?ÿÿÿTo load and unload his vehicle; properly roping down the loading of the vehicle.?ÿÿÿTo check and keep with care the tools, the toolbox, and other materials of the vehicle.?ÿÿÿTo register and check in a Logbook the fuel delivered and the fuel consumption.?ÿÿÿTo perform minor maintenance to his car when needed (fixing/changing flat tires).?ÿÿÿCheck the spare tire of the vehicle is in good condition and not FLAT.?ÿÿÿIf on long missions, ensure to have enough fuel, additional spare tires, and tools?ÿÿÿTo park vehicles at designated and approved locations only during out of working hours.
