Job Description

Job title: Machinist

  • Role purpose: LV/HV Motors, rotating Equipment assembly -disassembly tests, inspection, maintains mechanical and electrical repairs, installations and wiring in accordance with repair process and given instructions to desired quality and safety.
  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Perform visual inspection for incoming equipment, record name plate, match mark mating parts prior to dismantle.
  • Perform assembly/disassembly, repair service activities for all types of Motors (HV/MV and LV), rotating equipment in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Inspect the machine & measure clearances and record all the required dimensional information of the machine, air gap; machine component bearings, seals visually & dimensionally with reference; mechanically dimensions, run out & record and report findings etc. with applicable standards.
  • Test the bearings IR for motor housings with, grounds using the appropriate tooling and test equipment to test insulation and resistance in line with applicable standards.
  • Aware of measuring tools and testing instrument, micrometer, filler gauge, Vernia caliper, depth gauge, dial gauge, multimeter, clamp meter Megger.
  • Aware of all bearings type ball bearing, roller bearing, white metal bearing, lemon shape bearings.
  • Have desired knowledge regarding bearings, seals, rotating and stationary components clearance and interference fit for rotating equipment with reference to international standard.
  • Perform dynamic run test for motors with records to condition monitoring results (temperature, vibration, speed, voltage) etc.
  • Contribute to the team ethic and perform other reasonable duties as required.
  • Necessary Knowledge and Experience:
3 to 4 years in similar position.
  • Education and Certification:
Diploma in mechanic or in any relevant course.
