SummaryPerforms a variety of ophthalmic-based technical skills. Assists the ophthalmologist with patient care procedures.Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Prepares the patient for examination or procedure2. Administers topical ophthalmic medication under direction of ophthalmologist.3. Performs ophthalmic examinations and testing as directed by physician or clinic supervisor.4. Cares for instruments and reports equipment failures and initiates maintenance.5. Ensures adequate inventory of supplies by effective communication to persons in charge of ordering6. Provides patient and family education as required.7. Follows all Hospitals related policies and procedures.8. Participates in self and other education training and development as applicable.9. Performs other related duties as assigned.EducationBachelors or Associate/DiplomaDegree in Ophthalmology or related discipline is required. Experience RequiredGrade 07: No related experience with Bachelors, or two (2) years with Associate/Diploma Degree is required.Grade 08: . Four (4) years experience as Ophthalmic II at KFSH&RC..Average of annual performanceappraisal at least (3.5) for the last (4) four years. .Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education (CME).Other Requirements(Certificates). Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required. . Bilingual skills [Arabic/English] in verbal and written communications are required.
