Job Description

Advanced smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee.The smelter is situated in the Jizan Economic City and is designed to smelt ilmenite (Titanium rich mineral sand) to produce Titania Dioxide slag and pig iron. The plant consists of two Electric Arc furnaces, each with a capacity of 250kt slag and 125kt pig iron. The slag that is produced is tapped from the furnace and processed to be used as feed stock for the titanium chlorination and sulphuric acid processes to finally produce Titanium pigment which is mainly used in paints and plastics.An exciting opportunity is available for Sr Supervisor, E&I Treatment Based in Jizan and will report directly toSuperintendent, E & IAbout the role:Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of the ilmenite smelter plants equipment daily including electrical safety and ensuring safe working practices are adopted and maintained. Directly oversee the upkeep of substations, generators, pumps, and plant instrumentation, while guiding and supervising a team of technicians.You will be responsible to:

  • Repair and maintain HV and LV Substation.
  • Repair and maintain all electrical equipments.
  • Repair and maintain generator and emergency equipments.
  • Repair and maintain ABB drives.
  • Ensure contract services are performed following ASICs policies and procedures.
  • Perform calibration on all scale, Bin weight and keep record.
  • Perform RCA on frequent failure of equipment.
  • Attend to process failures due to equipment and ensure speedy recovery of processes.
  • Improve and maintain cross functional customer relationships.
  • Advise and assist Superintendent E&I and Technicians on maintenance related issue.
  • Compile weekly and monthly Maintenance Schedule into management report.
  • Fulfil standby duties as per schedule.
  • Perform safety audits of electrical personnel and ensure they are following all safety requirements.
  • Review and optimise the PM plans for Electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Develop spare part management and inventory control.
Minimum Qualification:Bachelors degree - Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering. Minimum Experience:8 Years or more of experience in heavy industry experience, steel plant in a supervisory role preferred. Required Skills:
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate.
  • Facilitate team collaboration and provide visibility and solutions.
  • Troubleshooting major system failures and equipment malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of HV system and protection system.
  • Knowledge on Motor and other electrical equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of ABB drives.
  • Knowledge of Electrical safety requirements and standard.
  • Good knowledge on weigh scale, belt scale and load cell.
  • Sound knowledge of plant instrumentation and fault finding.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Variable speed drive and SIMOCODE.
  • Ability to understand electrical wiring diagram and logic.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent in reading electrical drawing and single line diagrams.
  • Good Knowledge on maintenance and selection of MCC components, VSDs, cabling, lighting.
  • Good knowledge on different types of instrumentation (flow, pressure, TC) maintenance and selection.
  • Good knowledge on control valve types, pneumatic networks components selection and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge on analyzers selection, calibration and troubleshooting, CO, O2 etc.
