Job Description

JD for Business Development Manager at Abdul Lateef Jameel Health The Business Development Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Business Development contributes to the overall strategic direction of the business. Responsibilities:

  • Drive identification and sourcing of new products for licensing, distribution and investment deals in the focus markets of ALJ Health
  • Conduct in-depth analysis both scientific and commercial to support Go/ No Go decisions.
  • Support in conducting Due Diligence for any investment/ M&A opportunities
  • Develop presentations to Board Members to get necessary approvals for new deals
  • Assist in managing the deal development process managing interactions with potential partners, conducting negotiations, contracting support, interacting with legal/ regulatory/ commercial teams etc. to gather inputs
  • Communicate clearly the progress of deal flow on monthly/quarterly basis to internal stakeholders
  • Develop and manage CRM system to track and report on deals
Skills required:
  • Ability to interact positively with potential partners, core team, and company business partners
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and self-driven to drive new business
  • Accept personal responsibility for producing results, individually and as a team
Competencies/Knowledge:
  • Ideal candidate should have solid scientific background and knowledge of Therapeutics and/or medical devices is recommended
  • Analytical: Comprehend complex or diverse information
  • Knowledge of structuring sales forecasting and revenue expectations
  • Communication: Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrate group presentation skills, timely delivery of information
  • Familiar with the operation of basic computer programs and associated systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, sales and CRM related reporting systems
  • Experience in contracting and negotiations
Education/Experience:
  • 4-5 years of experience in a pharma or biotech organisation in a BD position, ideally based out of Middle East region
  • Bachelors degree (Life Sciences/ Medical degree preferred) and Masters in Marketing/Finance degree
