We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source a Piping Lead. This is a long-term contract role. Please see details below. Title: Piping Lead Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice) Location: Qatar Site/ Doha HQ Working Schedule: 6 days per week / 10 hours per day --Experience Required- Job Purpose . Responsible for piping and layout engineering activities for MP Compression - Project . Ensuring that all piping and layout activities comply with project requirements and specification . Through effective collaboration and management of engineering contractor and client stakeholder to ensure on time project delivery. Key Job Accountabilities . Responsible to ensure Contractor deliver a complete Piping & Layout engineering deliverables during EPC execution . Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations. . Responsible to check, review and appraise all piping & layout technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) developed by Contractor are in compliance with project scopes and requirements and identify potential risks to project if any. . Manage Contractors Piping and Layout disciplines resources and to ensure work completion on time . Responsible for all model reviews conducted during design development . Monitors and reports actual progress including SP3D model development to ensure Contractor completion of key milestones . Provide technical support to project and coordinate multi-discipline input on piping & layout deliverables . Participate in various projects workshop such as Hazardous Operations (HAZOP or HAZID etc) reviews . Assists with client expectations as required especially Risk Assessment, Facility Design and Construction and Management of Change . Tracking and reporting of lessons learned in defined area of responsibility . Works in a highly visible project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures . Works in a dynamic environment that has high expectations for flawless project execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance which requires the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills . Well established awareness of policies and procedures with high expectations for business controls compliance and to further develop controls to meet changing needs --Minimum Requirements- Qualifications . Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Knowledge and Key Skills . 15+ years of experience in piping & layout discipline with at least five years of lead discipline experience in major capital project and offshore fixed platform project. . Possess offshore brownfield project experience with at least two executed brownfield projects. . Good understanding on platform layout development requirements and equipment / material handling requirements . Experience with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry . Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds .
