Position Title: Special Educator Program ManagerDepartment: Special Needs DepartmentReports To: Director of Therapy ServicesPosition Overview: The Special Educator is entrusted with the responsibility of catering to theindividual educational requirements of students with diverse learning challenges. This involvesadapting the curriculum, imparting direct instruction, liaising with other professionals, andengaging in persistent assessment, all aimed at ensuring students receive optimal support intheir educational journey.Key Responsibilities:Instructional Duties:? Formulate and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to eachstudents distinct needs.? Administer lessons and orchestrate learning experiences, adjusting teachingtechniques and resources to cater to students diverse requirements.? Utilize multi-sensory and varied instruction to ensure comprehensive curriculumaccess for all students.Assessment:? Engage in consistent assessment and evaluation of student progress usingdiverse tools and methods.? Modify IEP objectives and teaching techniques based on assessment outcomesand observations.? Maintain meticulous documentation highlighting students progress, hurdles, andaccomplishments.Collaboration:? Foster close collaborations with the Behavioral Department, especially the BCBAand RBTs, to amalgamate behavioral and academic interventions.? Engage with varied professionals such as therapists, counselors, and auxiliarystaff to champion a comprehensive approach to student growth.? Participate actively in team gatherings, training modules, and workshops,ensuring alignment with the centers overarching objectives.Parental Engagement:? Consistently liaise with parents or guardians, updating them about their childsprogress, milestones, and challenges.? Offer resources and guidance to families to bolster learning and development in ahome setting.Classroom Management:? Cultivate a positive, structured, and inclusive learning ambiance that endorsesstudent engagement and well-being.? Implement behavioral strategies in sync with the Behavioral Department to aptlyaddress challenging behaviors.Professional Development:? Stay abreast of contemporary research, methodologies, and best practices in therealm of special education.? Participate in professional development seminars, workshops, and courses torefine skills and knowledge base.Resource Development:? Innovate, adapt, or source pedagogical materials and tools tailored to specificstudent learning needs.? Harness assistive technology to enhance the learning experience for students.
