Description The Team: Global Sales Strategy & Operations (GSSO) is a division within Gartner which encompasses Sales Technology, Sales Productivity, Territory Planning & Analytics, Sales Learning & Development, Operational Management, and Sales Communications & Proposals. Our mission is to drive continuous growth and productivity by providing tools, technology, analytics and trainings that enable Gartner Sales Associates to sell better and faster. We support more than 5,000 sales associates across 3 salesforces: Gartner Business Sales, Gartner Technology Sales and Gartner Conference Sales (GBS, GTS and GCS) to enable Gartner to sell to every major function across the enterprise.The Territory Planning & Analytics (TP&A) team under GSSO is at the nexus of Gartner?s mission-critical priorities of rapidly growing the sales force and increasing sales productivity. We partner with corporate and senior sales leaders across the globe to ensure the best return on the company?s substantial annual investment in incremental sales professionals. About the role We are searching for individuals who will help solve some of the most challenging business problems using data-based insights. You will work on problems that would include looking at large volumes of data and deriving insights from them. You will be helping us in making informed decisions around sales territory planning. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skill set and knowledge and help Gartner?s sales teams sell to better, high-quality territories. What you?ll do:

  • Projects will include using data analysis to improve our sales territories, make objective decisions on how to design profitable sales territories, and staff them to improve return on investment.
  • Working on several initiatives that have structured/unstructured quantitative data, derive key insights that are top priorities
  • Preparing presentations for the senior leaders stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant analysis
  • Drawing insights using data from primary and secondary sources
  • Using statistical analysis to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets for the diagnosis and prediction of sales revenues and target achievement
  • Using the data analysis to create business case and provide recommendations, use that to drive the vision forward.
  • Ensuring accuracy, scalability, and performance of models and solutions in coordination with data scientists
Qualifications What you?ll need ?
  • Bachelor?s or Masters? degree in Science, Math, Technology, Computer Science, or related branches
  • 3 to 5 years of experience performing data analysis working with large volumes of structured or unstructured data
  • Experience in all aspects of data analytics including mining, scrubbing, and transforming
  • Strong experience in presenting insights to senior leaders and communicating using PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to translate quantitative analysis into actionable recommendations
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques
  • Working knowledge of SQL/relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of business, data science and technical stakeholders
Following knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory:
  • Prior experience / working knowledge of Python
  • Data mining techniques
