  • The candidate should fully understand the imported raw materials used in aqua/animal feed and their global suppliers and can source them in a cost-effective way for our feed mills in Nigeria, Vietnam, and Senegal.
  • These materials include Animal origin RM (meat and bone meal, blood meal, feather, poultry, fish meal and fish oil / Plant origin RM (corn gluten meal, sunflower meal, canola meal, DDGS, etc.)/ Additives (vitamin & mineral premixes, amino acids, calcium phosphates, coccidiostats, etc.)
  • Proper negotiation skills to get the best offers from the strategic suppliers.
  • Networking with suppliers and other agencies to regularly collect market intelligence/insights to enable taking informed buying decisions.
  • Negotiate ocean freights with the liners and freight forwarders to get the best rates.
  • Assessing suppliers and their offerings with in-person visits, interviews, and analysis to assess their product quality.
  • Collaborating with various internal departments (nutrition, procurement, plants, sales) to ensure product quality, required quantities and timely supply of these materials.
  • Coordinating with suppliers and shipping agencies to ensure timely delivery in a 6-month rolling plan that cover end-to-end inventory including at factories, domestic in-transit, at port, on waters and ordered-not-shipped.
  • Minimum five years of professional working experience as a buyer of aqua/animal feed imported raw materials.
